11 hurt as car rams Army truck
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Eleven persons, including two soldiers and five militiamen, were injured after a car slammed into a military truck along Bagay Road in this City Sunday.
Truck driver Pfc. Mike Ventura, 25, and 1Lt. Dennis William Villanueva II were among those injured. Militiamen Ryan Cortez, 20; Redencio Agbayani, 22; Christian Picardel, 25; Jerson Corpuz 20; Jomar Cortez, 25, were also hurt.
Car driver Ener John Castillo, 27, a medical representative; and his passengers Clifford Zuñiga, 19; Jeremy Parungao, 20, and Michaela Sanchez, 21, were also injured.
The victims were rushed to the St. Paul’s Hospital in this city for treatment, according to Cagayan Valley Police spokesman Supt. Fernando Cristobal.
Probers said they have yet to confirm reports that Castillo was drunk during the incident.
