LINGAYEN, Pangasinan , Philippines   â€“ A week after winning the first Voice of the Philippines competition, Michael “Mitoy” Yonting visited this province yesterday to thank Pangasinenses for their support.

Yonting was welcomed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr., his wife Priscilla, and officials and employees of the provincial government during the flag-raising ceremony in front of the capitol building.

Aside from the Pangasinenses, Yonting thanked the provincial government for their help. He sang two songs and assured them that he will always visit the province. His band, The Draybers, often played in town and barangay fiestas in this province.

Yonting said an album featuring all the songs he sang during the competition may be released this month.

Yonting, who hails from Mindoro, is married to Merlita of Calasiao town, whom he met abroad. He said he has come to love Pangasinan and considers it as his own home province.
