Binay leads soldiers’ exercise drill in CDO
MANILA, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay led the exercise drill for soldiers belonging to the 4th Infantry Division in Cagayan de Oro City yesterday.
After the drill, Binay asked the soldiers, local government officials and police officers to join him in his regular 10,000 steps daily morning walk around the Camp Evangelista.
The Vice President was accompanied by some 500 soldiers under Brig. Gen. Ricardo Visaya and Gov. Yevgeny Emano.
After the walk, they engaged in a “boodle fight†consisting of salted eggs, dried fish, sliced tomatoes, rice, chicken, pork adobo, sardines, steamed okra and bananas.
Capt. Christian Uy, spokesman for the 4th ID, said the basic ingredients for a boodle fight among soldiers are sardines, scrambled eggs and dried fish. He said sometimes, there is adobo or other viand.
Uy said Binay requested that there should be sardines.
Binay thanked the soldiers for their services to the country.
