2 dead as van rams parked truck in NCotabato

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines - Two persons were killed and six more were hurt after a speeding passenger van slammed onto a trailer truck parked along a stretch of the Cotabato-Davao Highway in Pigcawayan town, Saturday noon.

Police have yet to identify the two fatalities, which include the driver of the van and the front seat passenger. Both victims died on the spot.

Responding members of the Pigcawayan municipal police and barangay officials rushed the injured van passengers to a hospital in Midsayap town, some 20 kilometers northeast of Pigcawayan.

Witnesses said the speeding van wiggled first before it hit the trailer truck, parked on one side of the highway in Barangay Manuangan, a farming area in Pigcawayan.
