LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Anti-narcotics and police operatives torched a marijuana plantation site in remote sitio Lungogan, in barangay Tuludan, Tinoc town in Ifugao on Tuesday.
Ifugao police director Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro said Tinoc town policemen led by Inspector Alyson Kalang-ad burned about 50 fully grown marijuana plants in a land area of 200 square meters and confiscated some 21 kilograms of abandoned sacks of dried marijuana leaves.
Samples of the dried marijuana leaves and plants were kept as evidence at the Tinoc town police station while an investigation is ongoing to identify the cultivator.
This as Cordillera police director Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong has renewed his orders to all police unit commanders to strengthen police operations and step up intelligence gathering against personalities involved in illegal drugs and put them behind bars.
At least P387-million worth of marijuana leaves, plants and seeds and its derivatives have so far been seized from January-June in the Cordillera..
