Olongapo asks US help for Subic rescue

OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines -  Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino has  sought the help of the US Navy personnel currently stationed in Subic to help in the relief and rescue operation in the city which was hit by massive floods owing to heavy rains since Sunday evening.

“I have called US ambassador Harry Thomas to help in the relief and rescue effort in our city,” Paulino said.

Paulino also said that he would be cutting his official trip abroad to come home and help his kababayan who was ravaged by the flood.

Paulino, together with councilor Jong Cortez is now in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA for a sister pack agreement.

classes has been suspended in all levels since 3 a.m. this morning.

Some parts of the city suffered neck-deep flood especially in low-lying areas. - Anthony Bayarong
