Car thieves kill b’gay councilman
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 58-year-old barangay councilman was stabbed and hacked to death before his wife and son by three suspected car thieves after he attempted to accost them for hiding a stolen motorcycle in his turf in Baggao, Cagayan last weekend, police said.
SPO1 Amado Orpilla, a police investigator in Baggao town, said the suspects, Joefrey Taguibao, 36, a tricycle driver; Jomar Dumayag, 27, a farmer; and one Albert Gamat, attacked councilman Jeremias Leones and escaped.
Murder charges have been filed against them.
