LPA dissipates; monsoon trough affects Luzon

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The low-pressure area earlier spotted in Baler, Aurora has dissipated and a monsoon trough would be affecting Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported yesterday.

The weather bureau said Metro Manila, Central Luzon and the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley would have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Light to moderate winds blowing from southwest to south will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon and coming from the southwest over the rest of the country.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
