1,643 pass electrical eng’g licensure exam

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of University of San Carlos topped the licensure examination for electrical engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

With a score of 88.50 percent, Houdinzon Celiz led the more than 3,000 who took the examination in Manila and in the cities of Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, and Zamboanga.

The PRC said of the 3,063 examinees, only 1,643 passed the examination.

Sorsogon State College graduate Kevin Destreza ranked second with a grade of 86.90 percent, followed by Mapua Institute of Technology graduate Rodney Fausto, who scored 86.70 percent, in third place.

Mark Christian Joshua, of the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman, captured the fourth spot with a grade of 86.50 percent, while UP-Los Baños graduate Andrew Ira San Juan landed in fifth place with a grade of 86.45 percent.

Mindanao State University graduate Reinan Tulabing placed sixth with a grade of 86.30 percent, followed by another UP-Diliman graduate, Erick Justin Ramos, in seventh with a grade of 86.25 percent.

Aireen Mae Udang, of the Surigao Education Center, landed eighth with a score of 86.05 percent, followed by another UP-Los Baños graduate, Carmelo Juan Granados, in ninth with a grade of 85.95 percent.

Tenth placer was Paul Timothy Mabilangan, who obtained a grade of 85.85 percent.

Meanwhile, the PRC reported that only 773 out of 2,126 examinees passed the examination for master electrician with Bicol University graduate Carlo Panarigan, who scored 87.50 percent, topping the examination.

Registration for the issuance of the professional identification card and certificate of registration will be on Sept. 23 to 25.

The successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
