2 Chinese nationals yield P250-M shabu

MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized at lesat 50 kilograms of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Las Piñas City, Friday morning.

Two Chinese nationals, suspected to be drug traffickers, were also arrested in the 10:30 a.m. bust.

The arrested suspects were identified by PDEA as 30-year-old Jang Wei Chung alias Airas Chen, of 236 Onpin St. Sta Cruz, Manila; and a 26-year-old woman, Yaya Zheng.

PDEA said the suspects were arrested at Pamplona II in Las Piñas City. Also seized from the suspects was a Mitsubishi Montero sports utility vehicle (PQZ-991)

PDEA said the seized shabu has a street value of at least P250 million.

The arrested suspects are now facing charges for drug trafficking and possession under Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
