MANILA, Philippines - Two policemen were arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during a buy-bust operation in General Santos City, the PDEA said on Thursday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as PO3 Fernando Alim, 49, of Barangay Pag-asa, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat; and PO1 Kadil Masahod, 34, of Barangay Malisbong, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.
Cacdac said the suspects are active police officers assigned with the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Police Office.
PDEA agents arrested the two policemen after selling shabu to a poseur buyer at a lodge along Salvane Road, BArangay City Heights at around 9:45 p.m. on September 9.
The two policemen yielded one gram of suspected shabu, one .45 caliber pistol with five pieces of live ammunition, a holster, two cellular phones, various pieces of drug paraphernalia, and a P500 bill used as buy-bust money.
Drug charges are being prepared against the two policemen. They will also be charged administratively and may face dismissal from the police service.
