Albay woman kills parents-in-law

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines   â€“ A woman in Guinobatan, Albay is facing double murder charges for hacking to death her parents-in-law last Saturday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Elvide Esparrago, Guinobatan deputy police chief, said the victims, Efren Morato and his wife Naty, both 58, died on the spot after being attacked by their daughter-in-law, Melinda Morato, 34.

Investigation showed that Morato killed her parents-in-law believing that they had been maltreating her two daughters, aged five and seven, for quite some time.

“I saw my mother hacked my grandfather and grandmother although they did nothing bad to her,” police quoted Morato’s seven-year-old daughter as saying in the dialect.
