LEGAZPI CITY , Philippines – Eight suspected New People’s Army rebels torched construction equipment in Pio Duran, Albay on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The insurgents, armed with M-16 and M-14 rifles, swooped down on the construction site in Barangay Malapay, ordered the workers to turn off their cell phones, and then torched four Isuzu Elf trucks and a cement mixer, police said.
