OSLOB, Cebu, Philippines – Three men were rescued by a joint police-Bantay Dagat team after their Siquijor-bound yacht turned upside down off Barangay Pungtod this town on Tuesday morning.

Inspector Christopher Castro, Oslob police chief, said the yacht left Siquijor earlier that day to bring a foreign guest to Dumaguete City.

The yacht, reportedly owned by the Coco Grove Beach Resort located in San Juan, Siquijor, was sailing back to Siquijor when its three-man crew had difficulty fighting the big waves.

Residents saw boat captain Paulo Surmeon, 25, and his crewmen Emeliano Sumagang, 50, and Jaboy Sumagang, 33, floating in the water and promptly called the attention of the police and Bantay Dagat.
