Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday suspended work again in all courts in Metro Manila due to continuous heavy downpour, the court's spokesman announced.

SC spokesman lawyer Theodore Te said the suspension of court proceedings outside of Metro Manila will be on the discretion of their respective executive judges.

As this developed, Te said oral arguments on the controversial Reproductive Health law is reset from today to August 27 at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, reports said streets around Manila City Hall have been submerged in knee- to thigh-deep floodwaters due to continuous torrential rain this morning

State weather bureau PAGASA earlier raised a red rainfall alert in Metro Manila and other areas in country, including  Rizal, Laguna, Bulacan, Zambales, Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga and Occidental Mindoro.

These areas will experienced heavy to torrential rains in the next three hours, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains hit Batangas, Laguna and Quezon provinces, which have already been submerged in flood Monday.
