Father, son killed in P’sinan fire

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan , Philippines   â€“ A man and his son were killed while three other members of the family were injured in a fire that razed their home in Barangay Rizal the other day.

Leo Cayabyab, 30, and his son Leonardo, seven, were believed trapped inside their house on M. H. Del Pilar street when the fire broke out shortly before noon.

Cayabyab’s  partner, Jocelyn de Guzman, 32, and  daughters  Lorie Jane and Jovel survived by jumping out the window.

Jocelyn and the children were brought to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in Barangay Bolingit for treatment of injuries they suffered when they jumped out.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Michael Samera said a kerosene lamp could have sparked the fire.
