MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.4 earthquake rocked parts of North Cotabato and Bukidnon early yesterday morning but there were no reports of damage or casualties, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake occurred at 12:20 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 11 kilometers northwest of Carmen, North Cotabato.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Carmen, North Cotabato; Intensity 2 in Antipas, Alamada, and Kabacan, all in North Cotabato; and Damulog, Bukidnon; and Intensity 1 in Pigcawayan, Midsayap and Matalam, also all in North Cotabato.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks were expected.
