Lightning kills laborer

ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines– A fish pond worker died after he was hit by a lightning in Kabasalan town in Zamboanga Sibugay, police said yesterday.

Sosito Flores, 36, of Barangay Timuay Danda, was walking with his brother beside the fishpond on Wednesday when lightning struck.

Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman for the Police Regional Office 9, said Flores was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
