47 registrants in SK polls subpoenaed

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines – Subpoenas were issued by the city election registrar to 47 registrants in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections for submitting questionable documents during the list-up last month.

Election lawyer Jennifer Balarbar said those issued subpoenas on Thursday were told to appear for clarification at the Sangguniang Panlungsod session hall on Aug. 13.

Balarbar said of the 47 questionable registrants, 12 were double registrants; 16 and 17 were under and over aged, respectively; one had no supporting documents while another one did not appear personally during the registration.

The lawyer said they would find out who enticed these registrants to commit such offense.
