Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Court of Appeals (CA) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) received bomb threats on Wednesday, following bomb attacks in Mindanao.

Senior Appellate Justice Remedio Salazar said one of the court's personnel received a call from a woman at around 9:30 a.m. warning of an impending bomb explosion in the main building.

Salazar said that they immediately informed their security guards, who in turn relayed the information to the Manila Police District.

The court's employees were immediately evacuated from their offices as police scour the building.

Police declared the building free from bombs at around 11 a.m.

Several hours later, a DOJ personnel was also warned by an anonymous caller that a bomb was planted on the building's second floor.

DOJ employees were also asked to leave their desks as the police search for the supposed bomb.

As of this posting, police were still conducting a thorough search for the bomb at the DOJ.

Both buildings are located in Ermita district in Manila.
