SM honors cheerful elevator girl in viral video

MANILA, Philippine - Shopping mall giant SM Supermalls has honored an elevator girl who was caught in an amusing video clip that has gone viral on the internet.

SM Supermalls said Cheridel Alejandrino, an elevator girl in SM Olongapo, was recognized by the company's management for "exemplary customer service."

"The cheerful and dedicated elevator operator from SM Olongapo, Cheridel Alejandrino, visited SM Supermalls' Head Office today and was given recognition for exemplary customer service," the company said in its official Facebook page.

The Facebook page showed a photo of SM officials with Alejandrino, who held a red envelope and a plaque.

Alejandrino was seen in a viral video clip which showed her  informing the passengers about the various establishments at a specific floor.

The video, which also shows Alejandrino singing and greeting every elevator passenger, went viral after inspiring and eliciting laughter among internet users.

Netizens have already made her a Facebook page, which described her as "a true Pinoy."

"Even in her job she's creating a friendly environment to show that she is dedicated with her job," the page said of Alejandrino.

The Facebook page has over 5,000 "likes" so far.

It also shows pictures of Alejandrino with Olongapo City mayor Rolen Paulino and receiving an award from the management of the SM branch there.
