Ex-militiaman killed, 2 hurt in Camarines gun attack

CAMARINES NORTE, Philippines – A former government militiaman was killed while two others were wounded in an attack staged by motorcycle-riding men in Basud town on Thursday.

Joel Arciga, 46, of Mocong village, was declared dead-on-arrival at the Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital in Daet due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Two bystanders identified as Felix Salvador, 58, and Randy Aceron, 30, were also rushed to the same hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Chief Inspector Antonio Lacson said the victims were standing in front of a sari-sari store when shot by three gunmen who fled after the incident.
