PNP prepares early for Yuletide

MANILA, Philippines - Five months away from the Yuletide Season, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is already preparing to reduce firecracker-related injuries.

The PNP's Firearms and Explosives Division has inked a partnership with the Philippine Fireworks Association (PFA) in a bid to ensure that fireworks being sold in the market are safe and compliant to existing standards.

The PNP and PFA had started their education campaign with the launching fo the 2nd Fireworks Display Operators' Seminar and the 3rd Fireworks Safety Training in Cebu City on Friday.

The PNP said that the agreement is also in compliance with the revised implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 7183 or the Firecrackers Law.
