Over 100 villages in South flooded

MAGUINDANAO , Philippines   â€“ More than a hundred villages along rivers crisscrossing North Cotabato and Maguindanao as well as Cotabato City have been flooded due to heavy rains since Friday night.

More than 20 school campuses in Maguindanao towns located along marshes that connect to the 220,000-hectare delta have also been flooded, according to schools division superintendent Meriam Kawit.

A dozen low-lying districts in Cotabato City, traversed by the Rio Grande de Mindanao and tributaries of the Allah River that spring from South Cotabato, have also been inundated since Saturday.
