Bacolod jail guards foil drug smuggling
Bacolod City , Philippines – They might have found ways to hide shabu and marijuana ingeniously, but guards in two jails here thwarted their efforts to bring in the illegal drugs.
Suspected shabu worth P50,000 wrapped in toilet paper was seized from one Ma. Fatima Uy, 30, who visited her inmate friend, Alfredo Aplasca, at the Bacolod City District Jail last Tuesday.
Marijuana leaves wrapped in aluminum foil and hidden in a sanitary napkin were recovered from one Janet de la Vega, 44, who visited her boyfriend, Elizalde Adorio, in the same jail last July 20.
Suspected shabu hidden in a container of shrimp paste, locally called “ginamos,†was recovered from the assorted grocery items of Mylene Ferrer, 46, who visited her boyfriend, Sonny Boy Tan, at the Bacolod City District Jail annex last July 13.
