Earist students to storm Malacañang

MANILA, Philippines - Several students will march to the Don Chino Bridge near Malacañang Thursday morning to protest the Aquino administration's education policies.

Students from the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology are against the government's roadmap to the Philippine Higher Education Reform policy, which they say gives primacy to profit than the youth’s right to accessible education.

From the historic bridge (formerly called Mendiola), the students will proceed to the Manila City Hall at around 10 a.m. to ask Mayor Joseph Estrada to award the land the land where the institute is erected, which is beking claimed by the local government.
