MANILA, Philippines - More than 400,000 public school teachers and personnel will receive their performance-based bonus (PBB) this year, the Department of Education announced on Wednesday.
The DepEd said it has already submitted last July 12 the first batch of validated reports required for the release of the PBB.
Consisting of 145 out of 191 divisions or 75.92 percent, the first batch covers 29,284 schools with 409,725 eligible employees, which includes non-teaching, and teaching-related personnel, the DepEd said.
The DepEd said that it will take about a week for the Inter-Agency Task Force to process the documents, afterwhich the bonuses, ranging between P5,000 to P35,00,would be downloaded to the regional and division offices.
The second batch of reports is expected to be completed and submitted to the task force soon.
DepEd employees who are recipients of national awards such as Literacy Awards and national awards from the Civil Service Commission and Metrobank Foundation in 2012 are already guaranteed beneficiaries of the maximum amount of P35,000.
Based on Executive Order 80, the PBB is a scheme that intends to reward government employees based on their performance and promote greater accountability in the public sector.
