ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - A lending firm lost P200,000 pesos on Monday in cash during a lightning heist staged by two unidentified men disguised as borrowers in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, police said.
The police said the two unidentified suspects clad with shorts, shirts and varsity jacket went inside the MCD Credit Corp. located at the third floor of the Lordel Building at the corner of Gen. Luna and Osmeña streets about 4:45 p.m.
The suspects, armed with handguns and a grenade, poked their handguns to the employees and declared a robbery.
Police Supt. Joven Parcon, Dipolog City police chief, said the credit personnel claimed one of the suspects went directly to the manager of the credit firm identified as Jimmy Dampios and at gunpoint seized all their day’s cash collections and a cellphone unit.
According to the manager, the heist took only for few minutes before the suspects escaped with their loot.
The police were inviting witnesses and owners of closed-circuit television in the vicinity to identify the suspects and determine if the two belonged with a certain robbery group in the region.
