MANILA, Philippines - Two persons, including a businesswoman, were nabbed by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during an operation in Quezon province, the PDEA said on Tuesday.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said suspects Genaro Cedeño, 40; and Francia Perida, 59, and a businesswoman who owned a sari-sari store; both of Barangay Mangilag Sur, Candelaria, Quezon were nabbed during a raid last July 6.

Cacdac said that Cedeño was tagged as a target-listed pusher in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, Quezon) while Perida was tagged as a watch-listed drug personality.

Reports showed that around 7 a.m., PDEA operatives and Quezon Provincial Police Office served a search warrant issued by Judge Agripino Morga of Branch 32 Regional Trial Court in San Pablo City, at Barangay Mangilag Sur, which resulted in the arrest of the two.

Confiscated during the operation were about 30 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, contained in a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet; a .45 caliber pistol; a 9mm. Ingram; a silencer for Ingram; gun ammunition, and various drug paraphernalia.

Cacdac said that confiscated firearms, ammunition, and the silencer were turned-over to Candelaria Municipal Police Station, while the pieces of drug evidence were submitted to PDEA Laboratory Service for forensic examination.
