1 dead, 6 hurt in 2 vehicular mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY , Philippines   â€“ One was killed and six others were injured in two separate vehicular accidents in Tuba, Benguet and in Cordon, Isabela last Friday.

Clark Pineda, 26, of Camp 7, Baguio City, died when the sport utility vehicle he was riding along with five others overturned in Barangay Tadiangan, Tuba. Injured in the incident were Jericho John Manuel, 23; Francis Julian Catolico, 18; Camille Reario, 18; Tanya Macario, 18, and Rafael Alcantara, 17.

Reports said the SUV, which was driven by Alcantara , reportedly swerved to the opposite lane, prompting Pineda to grab the wheel but eventually lost control of it.

In Isabela, Julius Domingo, 49, of Barangay Quirino was injured when his motorcycle crashed into a passenger bus along the highway in Barangay Magsaysay, Cordon town.

Superintendent Narciso Paragas, spokesman for the Isabela police, said bus driver Edgardo Tenio, 48, of Nueva Viscaya was arrested after the incident.
