‘No jueteng in Aurora’

BALER, Aurora, Philippines – Gov. Gerardo Noveras said he won’t allow jueteng to operate in Aurora under his administration, as he granted the wish of his predecessor, former three-term governor and now Rep. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, to preserve Aurora as the only jueteng-free province in Central Luzon.

Noveras said jueteng has no place in Aurora, adding he is also opposed to other forms of illegal gambling as well as illegal logging, illegal mining and illegal drugs.

“I hope he will continue to recognize integrity and competence that characterized my governance in the capitol for nine years,” Angara-Castillo earlier said.
