MANILA, Philippines - Police are now tracking down suspected car thieves who took a vehicle, with two children still on board, Friday morning in Quezon City.
Radio reports said four to five suspects on board a white Mitsubishi Montero bumped a green Mitsubhishi Adventure (ZGK-141), driven by Cerelio Villa, around 6 a.m. along Regalado Avenue, Fairview, Quezon City.
Villa told police that he was about to bring two children, one aged 11 years old, to Mater Carmeli School when the Montero hit the side mirror of the Adventure.
When he stopped and alighted the vehicle, armed men also came out from the Montero and fired shots in the air.
The suspects then boarded the Adventure, with the children on board, and sped away from the area.
Villa managed to escape and report the incident to Quezon City Police District.
Police are still determining if the vehicle was only the target of the suspects.
