PDEA nabs 5 in 3 Iligan drug den raids

MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested six persons during a sting operation in Iligan City, the agency bared on Friday.
The PDEA also believes that it has dismantled three suspected drug dens in the area.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Perlita Badelles, a suspected drug pusher, 37; Jelyn Golgol, 40, a laundry woman; Johny Dimakuta 43, a small businessman; Gamama Hamid, 22; and Jamael Sangulina, 25, both habal-habal drivers; and Meryl Jay Cañete, 23.
PDEA reports showed that last July 2, at around 2 p.m., its operatives joined by the local police conducted a buy-bust operation which led to the dismantling of three drug dens at P-5 Barangay Tambacan and the arrest of the six suspects.
Confiscated during the operation were two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and three P100 bills used as buy-bust money.
The PDEA agents also recovered several empty plastic sachets with shabu residue and various drug paraphernalia from the vicinity of the drug dens.
