MANILA, Philippines - Heavy rains which may spawn flashfloods may hit municipalities in the second district of Cebu province on Thursday morning, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) said in its 9 a.m. bulletin, thunderstorm may hit the municipalities of Oslob, Boljoon, Malabuyoc and Ginatilan until 11 a.m.
PAGASA said residents of the four towns should prepare for heavy rains, gusty winds, lightning strikes and flashfloods.
The weather bureau said that the low pressure area (LPA) spotted off Palawan province on Wednesday has moved closer to Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.
It said the LPA was estimated at 170 kilometers west of Calapan.
It added that the weather disturbance is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.
Apart from areas in Visayas, PAGASA said that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may be hit by light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
