MANILA, Philippines - The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council may have spoken too soon when it declared that there were no casualties caused by Tropical Storm Gorio.

According to a situation report released yesterday, the storm left seven people dead in Iloilo and four others injured in Quezon province.

The seven fatalities died of drowning after the motorized boat they were in capsized in Concepcion, Iloilo last Saturday. Four others, including three children, were wounded after a tornado hit Jomalig, Quezon also last Sunday. – Alexis Romero, Evelyn Macairan
