MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents arrested a member of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) during a buy-bust operation in General Santos City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Abunawas Ambong Magalip, 39, driver, of Purok 21, Block 4 , Uhaw, Brgy. Fatima, General Santos City.
Magalip was tagged by the PDEA as a watch-listed drug personality in Region 12, Cacdac added.
The suspect was arrested by members of the PDEA Regional Office 12 in a sting operation at Purok Acharon, Lanton Extension, Barangay Apopong, at around 7:20 p.m. last June 20
Confiscated from Magalip’s possession were more or less 10 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P80,000 and the buy-bust money used during the operation.
The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
