MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – At least P3.2 million worth of property was destroyed in a fire that hit the Malolos City Integrated School (MCIS) yesterday morning.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said no one was reported injured in the blaze that destroyed 14 classrooms.
Superintendent Romeo Rillo, provincial fire marshall, said the fire started around 4:30 a.m. at the old faculty room. It spread to adjoining buildings including the canteen, faculty room, and the grade school classrooms.
The blaze reached second alarm before it was declared under control two hours later.
Mayor Christian Natividad told The STAR that among those destroyed were a 38-year-old building and a classroom for special education. – Dino Balabo, Ric Sapnu
