MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested three persons, including a forest ranger and former city councilor, during a buy-bust operation in Davao City, seizing P1.3 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, PDEA said on Tuesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Anwar Guialudin 52, forest ranger of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region 12, Midasayap, North Cotabato; and his cohorts-- Abdullah Masukat, 52, a former city council member and Riyaddin Nanding, 19.
Guialudin is classified as a high-value targeted personality of PDEA in Davao region, Cacdac added.
Reports showed that last June 14, at about 9:36 a.m., three men agreed to meet with the poseur-buyer at the Victoria Plaza Parking Area, JP Laurel Ave., Bajada, Davao City, to facilitate the sale of shabu, weighing approximately 155 grams worth P1.3 million.
Upon the pre-arranged signal, authorities nabbed the suspects after they handed over the illegal drug in exchange for the P1,000 buy-bust money.
The suspects also yielded a Toyota Innova (LGF-935) and various drug paraphernalia to the operatives.
Authorities are now preparing to file drug charges against the three.
