Somali mauled in Baguio over remark

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines -  Seven Filipino youngsters  mauled a drunk 25-year-old Somali man in front of a bar here over the weekend over a remark.

Police identified the victim as Ibrahim Jama, of Upper Malvar St., Baguio City, who sustained a nasal contusion during the incident.

Initial report showed that Jama and his companion, only identified as Fuji, were about to go home after a drinking spree at the Purple Bar along Upper Session Road around 4 a.m. last June 15 when they had an argument with a group of men.

Jama reportedly shouted at the men ,"If you were in Somalia, I will kill you all," prompting the seven men to maul him.

The suspects fled onboard a sedan car (URK- 389).

Police are still investigating the incident.
