PDEA arrests dismissed cop for shabu possession
MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a dismissed Quezon City police officer after yielding illegal drugs inside his residence.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said Ramon Estrella, 45, of Saint Vincent Street, Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City was apprehended by anti-narcotics agents by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Fernando Sagun Jr. of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 78.
Estrella was dismissed from the service in 2009 with the rank of Police Officer 3.
Estrella, who was assigned at the Quezon City Police District, is also a target-listed drug personality, Cacdac said.
Operatives of the PDEA Special Enforcement Service served the search warrant on Estrella in his residence in Barangay Holy Spirit on Monday.
During the search, agents seized four plastic sachets of shabu weighing about 20 grams, a sachet containing dried marijuana leaves, two cal. 38 revolvers with eight pieces of live ammunition and various drug paraphernalia.
Estrella is now facing drug raps before the court.
