1 dead, 9 hurt in Quezon road collision

Tiaong, Quezon, Philippines – One died and nine others were injured when a passenger bus rammed a Mitsubishi L-300 along the diversion road in this town Monday afternoon.

Police said the Mitsubishi L-300 was cruising the northbound lane when a bus of Isarog Lines on the opposite lane rammed it. The bus fell on a deep shoulder of the road.

The fatality was identified as a certain Gilbert Villa.

Injured were bus passengers Amjaphil Dechoso Ocampo, 38; Gloria Candelaria, 28; John Montaril, 43; Cornal Carlo Magno, 42; Faustino Zaragoza, 60; Grace Loren Ines Yaneza, 11; and Concepcion Valencia Dimen, 68; and Mitsubishi L-300 occupants Michael Vipinosa Flores, 27, and Estiven Gripon Sy, 27.

The bus driver, a certain Renato Vargas, fled after the accident.
