CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Two men who allegedly robbed and killed an Indian businessman last March were arrested in San Pablo City Sunday night, officials said Monday.
Ricardo Abiles, 36, alleged leader of the Kalbo robbery group and his reported henchman, Joel Halcon, 31, were arrested in Barangay Del Remedio. Both men hail from Catarman, Samar.
Senior Superintendent Rolando Santos, deputy regional director for operations, said the gang was behind a series of robberies in Calabarzon.
The suspects also reportedly robbed at gunpoint Virgilio Valenzuela in San Pablo City on Sunday.
Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona, Calabarzon police director, said police officers recovered from the suspects Valenzuela’s belongings, a motorcycle, a sachet of shabu and unlicensed guns.
