Mother and daughter nabbed for drug peddling in Cotabato
COTABATO City, Philippines - Lawmen arrested here on Thursday a 42-year-old mother and her daughter for large-scale drug peddling.
Felimon Ruiz, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Anisah Abdullah and her 25-year-old daughter, Rasmeah, were caught in the act of selling shabu to an operative disguised as a drug dependent.
Ruiz said they learned of the illegal activities of the Abdullahs in Barangay Kalanganan from their neighbors.
The Abdullahs have been tagged as behind the largest drug distribution network in Barangay Kalanganan at the northwestern part of Cotabato City.
PDEA agents recovered from their possession more than a hundred sachets of shabu kept in canisters and sealed jars scattered around their hideout.
The Abdullahs were arrested a week after PDEA agents nabbed the elusive Dheng Guiaman, the city’s most wanted drug dealer.
Ruiz said the Abdullahs will be charged with violation of the Republic Act 9156, also known as the Philippine Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
