Antipolo mayor offers P.4-M reward in killing of supporter

MANILA, Philippines - Antipolo City Mayor Nilo Leyble has offered a P400,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman in the May 21 killing of one of his supporters.

Leyble and Vice Mayor-elect Ronaldo Leyva would hand over the cash reward to anybody who would help solve the killing of former barangay chairwoman Rina Junio “with no question asked.”

Junio, officer-in-charge of the City Hall Annex 3 at the time of her death, was a former chairperson of Barangay Sta. Cruz for at least 14 years.

Junio was watching TV in her residence when the gunman barged in and opened fire at close range. She was hit in the right eye, the bullet exiting through the back of her head. She died while being rushed to the Antipolo District Hospital.

Junio was the third supporter of Leyble to be killed in the just concluded midterm elections, the bloodiest so far in the history of Antipolo City.
