(UPDATE) Lady bank manager killed in Manila ambush

MANILA, Philippines - Motorcycle-riding gunmen shot and killed a lady bank manager in an ambush in Manila on Thursday morning.

Police said Rose Marie Gatan was on her way to the Bank of the Philippine Islands-Taft Avenue branch when she was attacked by the gunmen at the corner of Apacible Street.

Even as she was wounded, Gatan was still able to driver her car away from the shooters. Her vehicle rammed a lamp post in front of the National Bureau of Investigation's main office.

Responding policemen immediately rushed the victim to the Manila Medical Center, where she died while undergoing treatment for her wounds.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
