Dismissed workers, displaced vendors to storm Malacañang

MANILA, Philippines - Dismissed workers of a shoe factory and displaced ambulant vendors at the Luneta Park in Manila will stage a protest rally to demand for job security from the government, urban poor rights group Kadamay, said on Wednesday.

Kadamay-National Capital Region said dismissed Advan Shoes workers and Luneta Park vendors will first storm  National Labor Relations Commission in Banawe, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City  this morning.

The protesters will proceed to the historic Don Chino Roces Bridge, formerly Mendiola bridge, and will hold a solidarity lunch and a program, challenging incoming senators and to bare their concrete programs for job security and livelihood.

They will also demand from the Aquino administration to end the contractualization in the work place.

The protesters have claimed that they were illegally dismissed from their work in the shoe factory.

The program at the Don Chino Roces bridge is expected to end around 6 p.m.
