Tacloban DILG chief slams fake Facebook accounts

Lalaine Jimenea - The Philippine Star

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – The regional director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government denied owning the two Facebook accounts registered under his name that contained posts criticizing politicians.

This was the second time that DILG regional director Pedro Noval Jr. issued a statement denying the Facebook accounts.

“I wish to put on record that I do not maintain a personal Facebook account, nor have I allowed anyone to do so in my behalf,” Noval said as he advised the public to disregard “friend invitations” from Faceook accounts claiming to be his.

Noval said he has already asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to track down the people behind the fictitious accounts.

A post in one of the accounts showed Noval purportedly calling Rep. Bem Noel as a scalawag.
