12-year-old boy shoots younger brod dead

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A game of hide and seek between two children turned fatal when a 12-year-old boy shot dead his eight-year-old brother in Siay town in  Zamboanga Sibugay, police said yesterday.

The brothers were playing hide and seek Saturday night when the older boy found a shotgun said to be owned by the former owner of their house, Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman for the Police Regional Office 9, said.

The boys’ mother told police she heard a gunshot from the room and found her younger son bloodied and her older son still holding the firearm.

The younger boy died on the spot while his brother was placed in the custody of the local social welfare office.
