2 backers of rival bets in gun duel

ILOILO, Philippines  â€“ Two supporters of rival mayoral bets in Leganes, Iloilo shot it out with each other Thursday night, leaving both of them wounded.

Police said Honorio Cabrera, 43, was hit in the abdomen, and his neighbor, Tito Castaño, 56, in both legs.

Probers said the two had been at odds, with the elections worsening their conflict as Cabrera supported Mayor Ike Rojas who lost his re-election bid to former mayor Adolf Jaen who Castaño backed.
