2 QC police units awarded over anti-drugs effort

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency awarded two police units for their accomplishments against illegal drugs.

These two units seized shabu worth around P230 million.

The agency awarded the Quezon City Police District, and the Philippine National Police's Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force for seizing about  46 kilos of shabu and arresting the suspects behind the drug transactions, PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said.

The awards were received by QCPD director Senior Superintdent Richard Albano, and Senior Superintendent Napoleon Taas of the AIDSOTF.

On April 29, the QCPD nabbed three suspects during a buy-bust operation, and seized 40 kilos of shabu.

On May 1, the AIDSOTF arrested three other suspects who allegedly carried some six kilos of shabu.
